Roles define which permissions inside the Jetdocs app a user has access to. For example, certain users may have access to administrative controls, user management, template creation or access to analytics.
There are 2 levels of roles: on the organization and workspace level.
Organization Roles
- There are 2 organization level roles: Organization Admins and Users
- Organization Admins have access to managing all workspaces, as well as the organization’s roster and setting other users to Organization Admins
- Users may still be Admins of individual workspaces
- Organization roles can be managed through User Management → Organization Users in the Jetdocs UI. You can only access this UI if you are an Organization Admin, or an Admin or Manager of a specific workspace
Workspace Roles
- There are 4 workspace level roles: Admin, Manager, Editor, and Member
- Admins have the highest level of permission for a workspace and are able to use all controls such as managing users, editing templates, and viewing analytics
- Managers are able to manage workspace users, user groups, and view analytics
- Editors are able to view the Catalog Builder and create/edit templates
- Members, as well as all the above roles, are able to submit tickets through the Catalog and track ongoing tickets in the Ticket Hub
- Workspace roles can be managed in the User Management → Workspace Roles UI
